Lovely Fleece Lined Head Collars

Well it's been a long time since I've written and I have no excuse - the days, weeks, months have just sped by. But what better time to write again than when we have some lovely new fleece lined head collars just in.

The head collars are made of strong, 25mm webbing with a lovely soft synthetic fleece lining on the nose and head bands, reinforced buckle holes and a snap at the throat latch. The grey/pink head collar has pretty pink star detailing on the halter square on each side while the brown.blue head collar has baby blue stars.

These head collars would look gorgeous with the Rancher delux lead rope...

Also back in stock are our very popular pony club kits in pink.

cheers

Valentine's Day

Well I am spoilt for choice this Valentine's Day. My best beloved gave me the most beautiful picture book this morning. It is called Dogs and is by Tim Flach.

It is filled with the most exquisite and artful dog photos and is just a delight to leaf through. See http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2010/october/tim-flachs-dogs for a review and sneak peak at some of the photos.

And, if that weren't enough, I taped Martin Clunes Horsepower last night and plan to settle down in front of the television to watch Martin Martin track the story of how man and horse first got together, how the horse has helped us through the ages, and what the horse still means to us today. If you missed the first half last night make sure you set the tape for it next Sunday night 7.00pm on TV One (see http://tvnz.co.nz/martin-clunes-horsepower/martin-clunes-horse-power-4014630 for more information).

So that's me - dog book, horse programme and some Valentine biscuits that I baked yesterday - they look a little dodgy but they taste surprisingly good!

Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!

Animals Australia

Well it's been a pretty bad start to the year for natural disasters - flooding and mudslides in Brazil and Sri Lanka and  flooding in Queensland. The death and destruction on a human level is tragic and unfortunately animals don't fare any better. If you would like to make a donation to help the wildlife affected by the flooding in Queensland Animals Australia is currently taking donations.

CRED jewellry

Happy New Year everyone!

I know we're all still recovering from holiday excesses and the thought of buying presents is the last thing on your mind but I thought I'd share this site I've found with you.

http://www.credjewellery.com/

CRED Jewellery is the original fair trade jeweller. They not only design jewellery but work to ensure sustainable mining and production practices. All metal used in the making of their jewellery is traceable, in fact CRED were instrumental in the introduction of a Fair Trade mark for gold that will be introduced this year, and all precious stones used come with a certificate of origin. Their diamonds are sourced from Canada, Australia and Namibia so they can guarantee the social and environmental impact.

What's more although CRED is based in England, they not only ship internationally but delivery is currently free of charge! If you live outside the EU VAT is not charged.

Some of my favourite pieces are:

Silver Wolf Cufflinks made of solid silver sourced from artisinal miners in Bolivia

Brilliant cut solitaire diamond engagement ring.
Available in 18 ct yellow card, 18 ct white gold and platinum. Also available in a variety of diamond sizes from 0.3 to 1.5 carats.

16 inch chain of hearts made from 100% recycled silver.

They also offer a full bespoke service so you can have designed a trully original piece of jewellery.

All in all a great way to buy jewellery with a clear conscience and so easy too. Happy shopping!

Say No To Naff

Say No to Naff this Christmas - a fun UNICEF New Zealand initiative to prevent the giving and receiving of naff christmas pressies that will only get re-gifted or put at the back of a cupboard. Instead how about making 500 children happy with the gift of pencils, or save 100 lives with polio vaccines or keep a family safe from malaria with the gift of mosquito nets... That's got to be better than a naff Christmas.

Check out their video and facebook page.
